Boaters urged to use marina flare disposal program

Boaters urged to use marina flare disposal program

Clearwater, Florida -- Boaters who have expired flares are being urged to dispose of them safely at city marinas.

The city says marina personnel will collect the hand-held torches at the docking facilities for free, as part of the city's Clean Marina designation.

The marina also collects used engine oil, oil filters, and batteries, and can provide guidance to boaters on how to safely dispose of gasoline, diesel fuel, paint and tires.

For more information, contact the Marine & Aviation Department at (727) 462-6954.
