Drivers Beware, DUI Patrols Planned

Clearwater, Florida - Bay Area law enforcement officials are working to make sure people don't drink and drive this weekend, especially with St. Paddy's Day. There are a number of DUI saturation patrols planned.

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office is holding a DUI checkpoint Friday night at the Pinellas North County Traffic Court, located at 29582 US 19 North in Clearwater from 10 pm to 2 am.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office will do extra patrols on Saturday, with deputies roaming throughout county.

DUI checkpoint in Clearwater

Clearwater, Florida -- There will be a DUI checkpoint tonight at 29582 U.S. 19 North, in the parking lot of the Pinellas County North Traffic Court, in an effort to curb drinking and driving this St. Patrick's Day weekend.

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office will be conducting these DUI checkpoints once a month at various locations throughout the county.

The checkpoint will start at 10 p.m. and run until 2 a.m.

 

Sheriff: Largo father was organized crime ringleader

Largo, Florida - It's considered one of the largest cases of organized crime in Tampa Bay and detectives say at the center of it all was a Bay area father with two kids at home.

In the 53 years that Bob Sydnor has lived in Largo, he says nothing has surprised him more than the accusations involving his next door neighbor, 32-year-old Tihomir Botchev
