Public invited to meeting about airpark improvements

Clearwater, Fla. -- Residents are invited to a public meeting to discuss proposed projects at Clearwater Airpark, their impacts on Clearwater's neighborhoods, and what to expect.

The meeting will be Tuesday, Jan. 10 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Clearwater Airpark, 1000 N. Hercules Ave.

Four proposed projects will be discussed at the meeting:

Synthetic marijuana suspected in 19-year-old's drowning death

CLEARWATER, Fla. -- Logan Kushner's former football coach remembers him as an exceptional student at Palm Harbor University High School.

"He's one of the kids who worked the hardest out of all of them," Mark Haye says. "But he brought a sense of humor with the hard work."

10 News footage from the high school's homecoming in 2010 shows him proudly wearing #7 as a linebacker. He loved football and wrestling, even when one sport kept him from the other.

19-year-old Fla. man drowns in creek

CLEARWATER, Fla. (AP) - The body of a 19-year-old southwest Florida man has been found in a creek.

Clearwater authorities said Logan Kushner and a friend were in the park after midnight Sunday smoking a form of synthetic marijuana when Kushner began acting strangely and decided to jump in the water. His friend tried to persuade him to leave. Authorities said his friend eventually left because he had a curfew but called the victim when he got home.

Another friend went to the creek to check on Kushner and found him unresponsive in the water.

Pinellas County, FL -- Afternoon meetings of the Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners will now begin one hour earlier at 2 p.m. Public hearings will now begin a half hour earlier at 6 p.m.

Those wishing to speak on any subject, other than scheduled agenda items, may do so during the Citizens to be Heard portion of the afternoon meeting now beginning at 2 p.m. Comments related to public hearing or regular agenda items will be heard when those items come before the commission.
