Largo, Florida -- A new exhibit has opened up at Heritage Village in recognition of Viva Florida 500. 

This will highlight 500 years of historic people, places and events in present-day Florida since the arrival of Juan Ponce de Leon in 1513.

To commemorate the anniversary, Heritage Village features reproduction weapons, nautical items, clothing, camp gear, religious items and other items to tell the story of everyday life during the early exploration and colonization of Florida. 

The exhibit is at the Heritage Village at 11909 125th Street North.

Beach to mark start of Dolphins Trail

Beach to mark start of Dolphins Trail

Clearwater, Florida - A life-sized steel dolphin at Clearwater Beach will mark the start of the Dolphins Trail made popular after a pod of some 40 colorfully-decorated statues popped up at Pier 60 last summer, the city and Regional Chamber of Commerce said. 

The city and Chamber will unveil the dolphin Friday, March 22, morning, and also announce the locations of four more dolphins to be placed outside the Tampa Bay area in heavy tourist areas.

They've scheduled a news conference for Pier 60 Park, where the 6-foot tall fiberglass dolphins debuted.

Sarasota, Florida -- The Perlman Music Program/Suncoast has joined with The Jewish Federation of Sarasota-Manatee to present a chamber music concert honoring "Israel at 65" on November 6, 2013, 7:30 p.m., at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall.

This special concert features world-renowned Israeli-born violinist Itzhak Perlman performing chamber music works with a select group of gifted Perlman Music Program alumni.
