Clearwater, Florida -- The Clearwater Public Library System will host fun summer programs for all ages and all interests during the summer months.
Special programs for the week of July 15 include:
MAIN LIBRARY, 100 N. Osceola Ave.:
Ghostly Tales Book Club: Sunday, July 15, 2 to 2:45 p.m. This month's scary story: Wait Till Helen Comes: A Ghost Story by Mary Downing Hahn. Young Heather is obsessed with a small tombstone bearing her own initials in this classic tale. Children in fourth grade and up are welcome. Reservation required.
Magnificent Mondays: Monday, July 16, 2 to 3 p.m. (youth)Talako Dancers youth group present the art of Native American dance and regalia.
Showtime with the Dascaloja Puppeteers: Thursday, July 19, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. (youth) Clearwater Library's own Teen Puppeteer Troupe present folktales, stories and songs with puppets or skits and songs as themselves.
Young Artists Club: Friday, July 20, 2:30 to 4 p.m. Draw, paint, or create with us. We provide the supplies and space. Bring your creativity. Program for ages 11 to 17.

Boys Reading Club: Monday, July 16, 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. (youth) Elementary and middle school boys are invited to read books, share and discuss ideas.
Doggone Reading Fun: Monday, July 16, 4:30 to 6 p.m.; (youth) Paws for Friendship Inc. will bring therapy trained dogs to the library for preregistered 20 minute reading sessions. Reluctant readers, or children who might not enjoy reading aloud, are often eager to read in the presence of an adoring and nonjudgmental pup. Call to reserve a session for your young reader. Parental permission form must be signed.
Wacky Wednesdays - Cartoon Art: Wednesday, July 18, 2 to 3:00 p.m. (youth, teen) Learn to draw cartoon art with Leah's Cartooning Parties.Groups of 10 or more must call in advanced to register.
Family Bilingual Storytime: Saturday, July 21, noon to 1 p.m. (families) Share stories in English and Spanish with the whole family while creating crafts on the story theme.

Tremendous Tuesdays: Tuesday, July 17, 2 to 3 p.m. (youth) Razzmatazz ventriloquist and magic show.
Thriller Dance: Thursday, July 18, 2 to 3:30 p.m. (youth, teens) Learn the moves to Michael Jackson's famous music video, Thriller. Michael Jackson and zombie costumes welcome - awards for best costume and best performance.

Film Series @ Countryside Library: Wednesday, July 18, 2 to 3 p.m.; (adult) Totch Brown, Florida Everglades pioneer and author of A Land Remembered.
College Bound: Wednesday, July 18, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. (teens) What to expect from college. Alumni teen volunteers share their experiences and tips on surviving freshman year.
The PreSchool Place: Thursday, July 19, 10:30 to 11:45 p.m.; (youth) The best place for the five and under crowd to enjoy stories, music, or crafts. Ms. Ann Marie shows kids fun with American Sign Language.
Family Drive-in Movie: Saturday, July 21, 2 to 4 p.m. (family) Bring your own beach chair, blanket, bean bag and join us for a movie classic! Jake Gyllenhaal stars in the true story of a young man who turns his rocketry dreams into reality in October Sky.
