Clearwater Beach exhibit needs "Dolphin Docents" | Arts & Culture
Clearwater Beach, Florida -- The City is looking for volunteers to help visitors at the recently installed Dolphins Pod Exhibit at Pier 60.
The "Dolphin Docents" are needed to help keep children from climbing on the dolphins, to help prevent damage and to answer question people may have about the project.
The city says volunteers are needed for two-hour shifts. One to two people are needed per shift: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10 a.m. - Noon, Noon - 2 p.m. , 2 - 4 p.m., 4 - 6 p.m., and 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2 - 4 p.m., 4 - 6 p.m., and 6 - 8 p.m.
The "Clearwater Dolphins Pod at Pier 60" project is sponsored by the Clearwater Regional Chamber of Commerce and the city. The exhibit includes 50 brightly painted dolphin statues sponsored by local businesses, organizations and private citizens.
The exhibit, which rings the sidewalk from the concession area to the roundabout and north again, runs through Sept. 4.
