Clearwater, Florida -- Five days after the trial began against the man accused of killing his girlfriend and burying her body in the back yard of his Clearwater home, he was found guilty of second degree murder.
William Routenberg had been defending himself in the trial and claimed self-defense in the incident that ultimately led to 24-year-old Shanessa Chappie's death.

On Tuesday, closings ended and deliberations began around 4:45 p.m. Less than two hours later, the jury came back with a guilty verdict.
No word yet on when he will be sentenced.
