Pinellas County, Florida -- The County went online Wednesday night to join the conversation about how the health of the waterways affects the quality of life and the ways that people can make a difference.
The eTownHall: Watershed, where we LiveWorkPlay website included the live streaming video of the meeting. There were 334 page views during the live event, with 30 blogs and six tweets. Questions and comments on the blog included concerns of rainwater runoff, regulations, landscaping and the water quality of areas in the county.
The expertise of the panelists represented the areas of community life that are affected by the watersheds in the county, such as economic development, tourism, environmental protection and recreation.
The eTownHall was the kickoff to a public education campaign to help residents, visitors and business people learn about the county’s watersheds and how they can make a difference in the quality of the water. Every part of Pinellas County is located in a watershed and that message is underlined in the three public service announcements that were unveiled during the program.
