Supervisor of Elections to mail and publish sample ballots

Pinellas County, Florida -- The Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections office is sending out the official sample ballot for the August 14 Primary Election to approximately 250,000 homes.

The sample ballot will also be published in the Sunday, July 29 issue of the Tampa Bay Times, and the Wednesday, August 1 edition of the Times' tbt publication in the "Know Your Candidates" section.

In addition, the sample ballot will be published in the Friday, Aug. 3 edition of The Weekly Challenger.

“Voters can preview the races and mark their choices right on the sample ballot,” Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections Deborah Clark said in a release. “Then, voters can bring the sample ballot with them on Election Day.”

Florida has closed primaries. Only voters registered with a political party may vote in that party’s primary. All registered voters may vote in the nonpartisan judicial and school board contests.

The sample ballot contains ALL races for Republican, Democratic and nonpartisan primaries, including some Congressional, Legislative, and other district contests that will only appear on the actual ballot in certain precincts. Voters are encouraged to check their current voter information cards to determine which districts will be on their ballots, and whether they are eligible to vote in a political party’s primary. Voters may also visit www.votepinellas.com to view their precinct-specific ballots or call (727) 464-VOTE (8683) for their current voting districts.

For election information, call 727-464-VOTE (8683).
