Spring training may impact traffic | News

Clearwater, Florida -- Start planning a backup route if you drive near the Bright House Field. Heavy pedestrian and vehicular traffic is expected following spring training games at Bright House Field between 3:45 - 5:00 pm in February and March. This game day traffic combined with construction at the intersection of US19 and Gulf to Bay Boulevard and normal rush hour traffic will likely cause traffic delays in this area.

Vehicles traveling eastbound on Drew Street from the Keene Road area can avoid the US19 area by using alternate routes - SR590 and Sunset Point Road - for east/westbound travel. Drivers should also consider using Keene Road, Hercules Avenue, or Belcher Road for north/southbound travel.

The eastbound turn lane of Drew Street to the southbound frontage road access to SR60 may be closed to vehicular traffic from 4:00PM - 5:00PM on game days.

This lane closure is necessary to mitigate traffic gridlock on Drew Street in the area of the US 19 overpass.

Phillies Spring Training games start at 1:05pm and normally conclude at approximately 4:00pm.
